BYU journalism students travel to Maui to document wildfire recovery

A team of journalism students, accompanied by professional staff mentors, traveled to the island of Maui in Hawaii to work on a documentary about the devastating wildfire that broke out on Aug. 8.

While in Lahaina, they met with victims of the fire who had lost their homes, businesses or loved ones to learn more about their stories. Journalism students who remained in Provo spoke with students at BYU who had been affected by the fire in some way.
