HB208: Program to create safer school routes may get more funding

HB208, a bill currently making its way through the legislature, would codify the Safe Routes to School program, which would ensure that it is prioritized in the future. The bill would also allocate more funds to the program, as well as prioritize low-income communities where city funds aren't being used for sidewalks and other pedestrian structures, according to Rep. Suzanne Harrison, D-Draper, who sponsors the bill.
