Hundreds gathered at the Concert Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 3 for the performance, “When you Wish Upon a Star: A Jazz tribute to 100 Years of Disney.” The event celebrated 100 years of Disney songs, with a jazz twist.

The five-piece house band traveled from the National Jazz Museum of Harlem for their renditions of classic Disney songs. The performance was led by pianist and music director Sean Mason, accompanied by vocalists Kim Nalley and Sasha Dobson.

Songs included “Someday My Prince Will Come” from the Disney classic “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves,” as well as “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat” from “The Aristocats.”

Choir Showcase combines four BYU choirs

Tickets sold out for the Choir Showcase performance held on Wednesday evening, Oct. 4, at the Concert Hall. The performance combined four BYU choirs, including the Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, Concert Choir and BYU Singers.

Guest director Dan Forrest, known for his choral and orchestral compositions, accompanied the choirs. Attendees were treated to both classical and contemporary songs.

The performance live-streamed online simultaneously.
