Presidents are typically viewed as stiff, stuffy politicians. But  on Tuesday, Blues Night in the White House’s east wing brought out our president’s soulful side, as musicians Mick Jagger and BB King persuaded Barack Obama to take the mic.

This may seem like a novelty, but presidents past have also been cool in their day. Teddy Roosevelt inspired a nationwide toy trend. JFK went casually and fashionably hatless. Bill Clinton played the saxophone.
