President Thomas S. Monson

President Thomas S. Monson announced six new temples – in France, Colombia, Wyoming and Provo, and two in Africa to meet the needs of a growing Church membership.

He said the Church will build temples in Paris; Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo; Durban, South Africa; Barranquilla, Colombia; and Star Valley, Wyoming. The Church will also rebuild and convert the Provo Tabernacle into a temple.

“No Church-built facility is more important than a temple,” President Monson said. “Temples are places where relationships are sealed together to last through the eternities. We are grateful for all the many temples across the world and for the blessings they are in the lives of our members.”
