Trespassing:

July 18: A student came to the police office to see the bicycle rules. The male student argued with the officer and refused to leave when asked to. The student threatened to sue the police officer and continued arguing, and the student was arrested.

July 12: Two individuals were cited for trespassing at LaVell Edwards stadium. They were escorted out the stadium, arrested and later released.

Suspicious Activity:

July 17: A suspicious vehicle was reported driving back and forth in LaVell Edwards stadium parking lot. Police found that a father was teaching his son how to drive.

July 17: A suspicious vehicle was reported driving around Wymount Terrace Apartments. A man was buying a vehicle and was lost.

July 13: Three small children were reported left alone at the Botany Pond. By the time police arrived the parents had picked the children up.

Theft:

July 15: An adult at the Bookstore was reported writing fraudulent personal checks on a closed account. The issue is being investigated.

July 15: A bicycle was reportedly stolen near the Botany Pond. The bike was estimated to be worth $350.

July 14: A mountain bike was reported stolen from Wymount Apartments. The bike was estimated to be worth $900.

July 11: A mother reported her daughter’s backpack was stolen at the Cannon Center. The backpack contained a cellphone, license and wallet.

Property Damage:

July 18: A truck destroyed plants, dug up asphalt, damaged a curb and drove over a tree in Lot 58 by the Informational Technology Building. Damages were estimated at $1,200.

July 13: Students kicked a soccer ball out of Deseret Towers fields that struck and broke a moving vehicle’s windshield.

July 11: A custodian at the J. Reuben Clark Building reported graffiti on a garbage can. An offensive word was written on the can which measured eight inches tall by two feet wide. The incident was reported and cleaned up.

Noise Complaint:

July 17: A dance party near the Conference Center field was reported as disturbing the peace. The officer explained to the people the rules about noise complaints and the people complied.
