Bridal magazines are helpful to new bride’s to be who are looking for information to start planning a wedding. They help with every detail down to the color of eye shadow you wear on your wedding day. According to BYU’s newlyweds, the most popular bridal magazines are Martha Stewart’s Living: Wedding Edition, Modern Bride, and Bridal Guide.
“I was having my dress made and I found my dream dress in Martha Stewart’s Living: Wedding Edition. My seamstress was able to personalize my dress and give it the style I wanted,” stated, Angie Minor, a medical assistant from Provo.
Martha Stewart Living: Wedding Edition magazine is publishes twice a year: in the winter and the spring. It gives an array of details for wedding cakes, choosing a dress, flowers, wedding rings, and dressing your bridesmaids.
“I order Martha Stewart Living just so I can get the wedding edition. I love it,” stated, Stacey Struss, a BYU junior majoring in Family Science from Orange, California.
Modern Bride and Bridal Guide are published bi-monthly. They give brides to be the latest trends on the fashion floor. They focus more on styles of bridal gowns and bridesmaid dress.
“Bridal Magazines give women great ideas for planning the perfect wedding, and I found they had some great ways to save money too,” stated, Kelli White, a BYU freshman majoring in nursing from Valencia, California.”
“Bridal magazines are the lesson books on planning your own wedding. They gave me ideas on decorations, honeymoons, invitations, and even finances,” said Minor.
“Bridal Magazines are fun to look at, but I think they have to big of influence on current trends,” said Michelle Anderson, a elementary school teacher from Park City.
“I looked at all the bridal magazines, but I still went with my own style,” Anderson said.
Bridal magazines can be helpful when planning for the big day, but how helpful are they for LDS women?
According to engaged women,Bridal magazines are great for couples that have long engagements, but they really don’t help focus on couples that only have a couple of months. Bridal magazines often give a timelines for planning a wedding and they are typically twelve months long.
Wedding planning can be a stressful time, but Bridal magazines can help alleviate the know-how of weddings and get you off on the right start.
