Survivors of Larry Nassar, a former campus and U.S. Olympics sports doctor who sexually abused over 120 girls, are demanding the resignation of Michigan State University’s president John Engler for reinforcing a “culture of abuse” at the school. Engler, who served as Michigan’s Republican governor from 1991 through 2002, has resisted pressure to step down. News sources have revealed that Engler sent messages to another university official criticizing lawyers of Nassar’s victims, saying that the first woman who went public about her abuse from Nassar was probably getting a “kickback” from her attorney.
