Utah ranks as the second least obese state in the country

Utah was ranked the second least obese state in the country.

In a study done by Wallet Hub on the most overweight and obese states in America, Utah came in at number 50. Southern states came in at the top of the list.

West Virginia ranked #1, Mississippi at #2 and Arkansas at #3. Utah is at #50 with Washington D.C. ranked #51.

The study also measured obesity in adults and children. Utah ranked #48 with the lowest percentage of obese children.

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute found that the leading cause of obesity is inactivity.
