The Cougars will go Duck hunting as BYU travels to Eugene to face Oregon in 2022. This will be the first match up between BYU and Oregon since 2006.
“It’s a great opportunity to play an outstanding football team from the Pac 12,” BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said.
The Cougars will travel to face the Ducks on September 10, 2022, at the beginning of the season. Oregon had an opening in its schedule and the circumstances were right for BYU. The Cougars hope to develop a long-term relationship with the Ducks according to Holmoe.
The teams have met six times since their first meeting in 1964 and the series is split 3-3. Oregon won in the first meeting between the teams 20-13, but the Cougars stomped the Ducks 38-8 in their most recent game in 2006 at the Las Vegas Bowl.
