Spring exercise

Spring is approaching, which means warm weather. Spring is the time when flowers blossom and the start of a new beginning. It can be a fresh start for us as well. Colder weather discourages exercise, because you don’t want to be outside in the cold and it can be cramped and stuffy in the gym. It is no longer cold outside, and after being inside all winter it is time to stretch our legs and start to exercise again.

Exercising not only helps you lose weight but makes you feel good in general. Physical activity releases certain hormones in your body that help you be happier throughout the day, and by using your muscles it can give you more energy. You don’t need to feel discouraged if you don’t feel like you are ready to run a marathon; most of us aren’t. Start by walking for 30 minutes every day, and slowly over time increase your workouts. Set a goal in mind to reach for, such as running a 5K by the end of the summer. Now is as good as any time to make a goal to do any sort of physical activity every day.
