“It is great to know we are part of this group of innovators and entrepreneurial companies that are pushing growth in Utah and showing off good talents,” said Chris Brasher, director of marketing at Property Solutions — number 12 on the list.

Property Solutions, with offices in Provo and Lehi, was among the thousands of businesses considered for three awards by MWCN.

The three categories and awards honored by MWCN are:

  • Utah 100 — Utah’s fastest-growing companies based on the percentage of revenue increase from 2008 to 2012.
  • Emerging elite — Companies that have two to five years of operation and show significant promise of success and growth.
  • Top revenue growth companies — The state’s companies with the largest dollar of revenue growth from 2008 to 2012.

Companies recognized range from financial software company You Need a Budget to home security and automation giant Vivint.

Concerning these top 100 companies, Devin Thorpe, president of MWCN, said, “They represent the bulk of job growth in Utah.” Thorpe, an author and Forbes contributor, continued, “These are the ones that drive the economy of Utah.”

Jeff Brown, assistant director for the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at BYU, said these lists provide opportunities for companies to receive publicity and add a level of legitimacy to their companies.

“Consumers shop where they shop and consume what they consume largely by how they are portrayed in the media,” Brown said. “These lists provide the type of publicity to recognize what these companies are doing.”

The full list of winners can be found on the MWCN’s website, mwcn.org. MountainWest Capital Network is a nonprofit trade association.
