What celebrity would you like to give you a tour of your dream destination?
Kim Hoffman, nursing, junior, Highland — “Channing Tatum, partly because he’s attractive. Also I love to dance and he’s in Step Up. We’ll go with him. He would be cool to talk to.”
Abinash Paudel, graduate studies in chemical engineering, Nepal — “It would be Steve Jobs. I feel like he has a different angle of looking at things. When he would take me on a tour, I would be able to see things but I may not be able to see things in other perspectives. He probably could tell me things that I cannot see. I would definitely prefer Steve Jobs.”
Matt Woodside, physiology and developmental biology, junior, St. George — “Joseph Smith. Obviously he is one of the great prophets. I think he would be a very interesting person to get to know. I think he would be a very personable guy.”
Dru Daniels, vocal performance, senior, Vermillion, S.D. — “I’m not going to lie. My first thought was Barbra Streisand. I love her, and I would be able to talk to her. If we got lost, it would be ok because we would just sing ‘Kumbaya’ really well together.”
Camilla Balleza, piano performance, senior, Portland, Oregon — “Robert Downey Jr. He is hilarious and sarcastic.”
McKenna Hughes, nursing, junior, Scottsdale, Ariz. — “I can think of people that I would want to give a tour to. I was thinking old presidents or even Joseph Smith. It would be cool to show him how big the Church has gotten, and show him all of the temples that we have now. That would be my choice.”
Amanda Harrison, Russian, senior, St. George — “I would choose Robin Williams. He just makes me laugh. He cracks me up completely. Anywhere would be fine.”
Bryan Seegmiller, economics and math, junior, St. George — “So many good options. I will pick Yoda to be my celebrity tour guide. Yoda is very wise. I respect Yoda a lot. I suppose I would have him give me a tour of Dagobah. That’s where Luke learned how to use the Force, and maybe Yoda can teach me the same thing in the same spot.”
Brooke Viiga, molecular biology, senior, Huntington Beach, Calif. — “I would want to go with Justin Timberlake. One, he is super attractive. His music is on point, I think. I would want to see the world through a musician’s eyes.”
Kelsy Johnson, neuroscience, senior, Boise, Idaho — “The person that popped into my head is Oprah. I feel like she is very good-hearted and she could take us to places that need service and then she could take us around and show us good things to do.”
Jim Wooten, administrative employee, Highland — “Some of the best tours have been given by people who are really knowledgeable. Stan Ellsworth from American Ride. He is so passionate about history. I would like going through some of the historical sites back east.”
Chelsea Katseanes, graduate studies in environmental science, Boise, Idaho — “Maybe I would choose Dan Brown. I would choose him because I feel like he would tell enough truth and enough fiction to make things a little over the top but still believable.”
Ronnie Olsen, biophysics, senior, Las Vegas, Nev. — “Jack Sparrow. It would be hilarious.”
Connor Barth, biology, senior, Sacramento, Calif. — “Probably Jim Carey. I think he’s really crazy, and I think he’d be really funny. He wouldn’t even show you anything. He would just walk around like, ‘Hey, what’s up?’ He would be the tour. Some people don’t like Jim Carey. I do though.”
Stephen Betts, ancient Near-Eastern studies, junior, Los Alamos, N.M. — “Ian McCellin. He has an epic voice. Definitely. I would have him take me to New Zealand. He’s pretty familiar with that place.”Heidi Betts, special education, junior, Auburn, Wash. — “I’d probably do the same thing just to be with my husband.”
Eve Smith, advertising, senior, Puyallup, Wash. — “Dustin Hoffman. He is old and wise but also funny.”
Kelsey Hatch, physics, senior, Snowflake, Ariz. — “I wouldn’t mind having John Wayne give me a tour of Texas. He is the ultimate cowboy.”
Joseph Cardon, chemistry, senior, Provo — “Jimmy Stewart will give us a tour of Washington, D.C. Have you seen ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington’? I think he is super patriotic and knows all about that stuff.”
Rachelle Gardner, communication disorders, senior, Alpine — “The prophet. It would be cool to spend one-on-one time with him. It would be so awesome.”
