BYU softball will face local rival Utah Valley University in a four game conference series this weekend at Wolverine Field. Friday’s double header will be played at 2 and 4 p.m. MDT and Saturday’s will be at 1 and 3 p.m. MDT.

The Cougars will look to turn their game around after being swept by the University of Houston last weekend. Assistant coach Vaughn Alvey said the team needs to make adjustments if it wants to earn wins.

“We’ve got in the habit of doing the same thing in every situation,” Alvey said. “You’ve got to adapt to your environment and take advantage of what the opposition gives you. Sometimes we look opportunity in the face and turn away.”

BYU lost only one game to UVU out of the 26 times they have played. UVU has a 20-12 winning record this season and is motivated by a sweep at Weber State on Wednesday. The Wolverines are led defensively by pitcher Tiffany Mills who has thrown 90 strikeouts. Luckily, the Cougars have Marissa Bravo who hit .500 last weekend with two doubles and two RBI’s to help lead the team to victory.

All four games will be available via live stats which can be found on the BYU softball website.
