Track_07This weekend the Cougars head to Arizona to compete in the Sun Angel Classic and for some of the female throwers to compete in the Mesa Classic.

The most anticipated events for the women are the 400-meter dash, the 400-meter hurdles and the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The men’s team is anticipating a strong showing in the 800-meter race. Senior Ryan Waite will make his debut in the 800-meter race, after ranking No. 13 overall in the 2013 NCAA Indoor Nationals.

Junior Nicole Bringhurst is running the 400-meter dash and the 4×400-meter relay this weekend.

“Since the season is coming quickly to an end, I have tried to mentally prepare for this meet,” Bringhurst said.  “We don’t have very many (meets) left, so I’m excited to get some warm weather and get another chance to beat my personal record.”

The Cougars are a little over halfway done with their outdoor season. The Cougars will compete Friday and Saturday beginning with the 5,000 meter race on Friday at 7:30pm.
