The BYU track and field teams will be in Provo for their second home meet of the season Saturday, April 15, 2006.

Fresh off several regional-qualifying performances at UCLA and Texas, the Cougars look to make strides at the Clarence F. Robison outdoor track facility. A total of 20 men and 13 women from the team have already earned their places at the NCAA West Regional Championships, to be held in Provo May 26-27, 2006.

Women?s coach Craig Poole said he awaits positive results.

?We?re looking forward to having good weather so we can finally unwind a bit,? Poole said. ?We should have some improvement; we?ve started to run pretty well. We?re looking for some regional qualifiers and some good marks.?

Saturday?s Y Invitational will feature teams from Eastern Washing-ton, Portland State, the University of Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley State, Weber State and Western State.

The meet will run from approximately 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A tentative schedule of events is posted on www.byutrack.com. The Web site will also feature updated results from the competition.

The Cougars? remaining home schedule includes the Robison Invitational on April 27-29, the MWC Outdoor Championships on May 11-13 and the previously mentioned NCAA Regional Championships.
