BYU Student Struck By Car Still in Intensive Care

    The student motorcyclist who was struck by another student”s car Friday morning, Feb. 24, 2006, is still in intensive care.

    The motorcyclist, Ryan Hatch, a senior from Provo, as of Monday morning, Feb. 27, 2006, is listed in critical but stable condition at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.

    Ryan”s father, David Hatch, said Saturday afternoon that Ryan suffered brain injuries and “is in and out of consciousness.”

    “The next 72 hours are crucial,” David said.

    Hatch was riding his motorcycle Friday when a student turned in front of him. He abruptly hit the brakes, but ultimately hit the vehicle. Hatch was not wearing a helmet.
