Hearing Date Set For Parkinson

    A preliminary hearing for Kent Parkinson, a Springville man accused of sexual assault, has been scheduled for May 2, 2006, in Utah County 4th District Court.

    Judge Samuel McVey also ruled Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, that Parkinson, 25, of Springville, can work in the jail”s kitchen while awaiting the hearing. Parkinson is currently being detained in Utah County Jail on $250,000 cash-only bail while awaiting proceedings on two ongoing cases.

    In those cases, Parkinson faces felony kidnapping, forcible sodomy and 10 felony rape counts involving incidents in which he allegedly assaulted women he met through an online Mormon dating service. He pleaded not guilty to those charges in February.
