BYU students learn religious tolerance
Approximately 99 percent of the BYU student body are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The remaining 1 percent — about 425 students — are members of other faiths like Buddhism, Catholicism, Evangelical Protestantism, Islam and Judaism.
BYU students grow beards, long hair for Book of Mormon videos
BYU students cast as members of the Book of Mormon Visual Library Project have been asked to rock beards and long hair on campus. The committee head on the film project, Elder LeGrand R. Curtis Jr. said the videos will be used to "introduce people to the Book of Mormon."
Conference Center changes make safety top priority
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced policy changes to the Conference Center on Sept. 28, including that security will no longer store personal items and North Temple will be temporarily closed before and after General Conference sessions.
Interfaith Club creates inclusive community
Non-LDS students at BYU are a minority, the school has a student body where over 98 percent of the population are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Students started the BYU Interfaith Club to give minority students a voice and foster understanding between Latter-day Saint students and students from other religious backgrounds.
Latter-day Saint missionaries to receive mission calls online
Potential missionaries who live in Utah and Idaho will now receive their mission calls online rather than through the mail, according to a press release on Mormon Newsroom.
