General conference is a time of spiritual renewal and faith for members all across the world.

The Conference Center in Salt Lake City buzzed with excitement as thousands of attendees gathered for the 194th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

President Dallin H. Oaks spoke about covenants and how they are essential for individuals and society.

“What I have said about covenants being a foundation for the regulation of individual lives applies particularly to religious covenants,” Oaks said. “The foundation and history of many religious affiliations and requirements are based on covenants.”

New apostle Elder Patrick Kearon spoke about God’s intent for His children to choose to come home.

“Our Father’s beautiful plan, even His fabulous plan, is designed to bring you home, not to keep you out,” Kearon said.

Church members came from all across the world to hear the messages and words of the prophet and apostles. Church member Vladamir Greer traveled from the Dominican Republic to hear the talks in person.

“It means a lot, because we always wanted to be here,” Greer said.

Greer emphasized his excitement in getting to see the prophet live. “That was amazing when we saw him so it means a lot to us,” Greer said.

Ramona Piea and Siu Alone traveled from New Zealand and Australia.

“I think … I think everything stood out for us,” Piea said. Alone agreed.
