Tonight’s game at Boise State will mark the 11th meeting between the two programs. But, the Cougars are looking to do something they’ve never done in Boise when playing Boise State — win.

Since the series began in 2003, BYU is 0-5 all-time when playing Boise State in Boise. The last two meetings vs the Broncos on the blue turf, BYU lost both games by a combined six total points. Both games came down to the final play.

Head Coach Kalani Sitake said earlier this week, “We consider this a rivalry game for us. It comes down to the wire, and it gets close, and there’s a lot of emotions involved in it. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, you know. We’re looking forward to trying to find success up there.”

This year, the Cougars are looking to continue their 7-game win streak by ending the 5-game losing streak in Boise.

Senior defensive back Troy Warner said earlier this week, “You know, it’s exciting. This is an exciting time. And we are going to prepare the right way. I know it’s a short week, we are going to do what we can and what we have to do to come prepared and come ready for a dog fight.”

Tonight will mark the first time in rivalry history that both teams will be ranked when playing each other. Hopefully that means we can expect a different outcome on the blue turf.
