PROVO – The Provo Airport broke ground for their new terminal this morning.
They hope the new terminal will finish as early as 2021. The terminal should allow them to manage more flights, and therefore attract more airlines. The terminal would cater to government officials, businessmen, college students and anyone else who wants to avoid driving to Salt Lake City.
The groundbreaking started with speeches from Mayor Kaufusi and other officials, highlighting the benefits of the new terminal, and recognizing those who have contributed to the project. Once the remarks were finished, they made their way to where they would break ground and rather than use shovels, they used dynamite to mark the ground.
