The gunman who fatally shot one and took another hostage in Charleston, South Carolina on Thursday was a disgruntled employee and not a terrorist said Charleston Mayor John Tecklenberg.

Texas prepares as Harvey strengthens to Category 2 storm

Hurricane Harvey continues to gain strength as the storm moves closer to the coast of Texas. Forecasters have urged that preparations and evacuations “should be rushed to completion.”
