The BYU softball team defeated Louisville 6-4, but fell to Nebraska 2-0 in their second game of the day. The loss was their second of the regional and they were eliminated.

“I’m proud of the way our team fought today after a difficult night last night,” said BYU head coach Gordon Eakin. “I thought they came out and showed great character today. They played hard.”

The Cougars made it to the NCAA regionals for the twelfth consecutive season and finished the year with a 36-20 record.

Catcher Libby Sugg drove in a career-high five runs during the Cougars 6-4 victory over Louisville and hit her 18th homerun of the season.

In game two, BYU gave up two runs in the top of the 1st inning. They held the Cornhuskers scoreless for the remainder of the game, but were unable to climb back from the early deficit.
