The 6-foot-6-inch Provo native set the NCAA record for triple-doubles against Belmont on Nov. 28 when he scored 26 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished 10 assists. Collinsworth averages 15.5 points per game, 9.2 rebounds per game and six assists per game this season.

Among others on the Naismith Trophy and Robertson Trophy watch lists are Gonzaga forwards Kyle Wiltjer and Domantas Sabonis and Utah forward Jakob Poeltl.

While the Naismith and Robertson trophies reflect on-court excellence, Collinsworth was also nominated for an off-the-court award.

The Allstate National Association of Basketball Coaches Good Works Team recognizes players at all levels of college basketball who have made contributions to their communities.

Collinsworth’s community service was outlined in a press release:

“Collinsworth boasts an impressive resume of community service accomplishments, which include volunteering with Mac’s Gifts each year he has been at BYU, speaking regularly to youth groups throughout the area about setting and achieving goals, and serving a two-year LDS mission in Russia.”

Collinsworth leads the Cougars back to action on Dec. 5 when BYU faces Weber State in Salt Lake City.
