BYU women’s volleyball takes home victory from the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic tournament

The BYU women’s volleyball team are heading back to Provo with three victories under their belt. The team spent the weekend in St. Louis, Missouri, participating in the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic tournament.

Other participating schools included Saint Louis, Purdue (ranked No. 24) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. BYU won all three games against each school in three sets.

Alexa Gray, a senior and an outside hitter, played extremely well during the tournament and helped lead her team to victory with 13 kills against St. Louis and 14 kills against Purdue. Senior Ciara Parker, a defensive specialist and libero, aided the team with an impressive 19 digs during the game against St. Louis. During the game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, freshman Lacy Haddock, an outside hitter, had 10 kills and Camry Godfrey Willardson, a senior and setter, had 31 assists.

The team played extremely well and are starting the season off in the right direction.

BYU will play again on Sept. 9 against Idaho State at the Smith Fieldhouse.
