No. 20 volleyball continues conference play on the road

The newly ranked No. 20 BYU women’s volleyball team travels this week to play conference opponents Portland and Gonzaga on Thursday and Saturday.

BYU remains the only undefeated team in the WCC with 10-straight victories (14-3, 7-0 WCC). Wins last week at home against both Santa Clara and San Francisco added to BYU’s hot streak.

Next BYU faces conference foe Gonzaga (8-8, 4-3 WCC) on Saturday at 12 p.m. PDT in the McCarthey Athletic Center. The Bulldogs have only beaten the Cougars once, and BYU leads the overall series 7-1.

In the 2012 season, Gonzaga finished 9-20 (1-15 WCC) and returns five starters to this year’s team. In conference play last year, Gonzaga and Portland tied for eighth-place.
