Remembering women’s soccer

The most memorable moment for me during this whole process was the Sweet Sixteen game against Marquette. With time running down and zeros on the board it was apparent that this game would go into penalty kicks. For a sports writer it was the perfect setting, with around four thousand screaming fans and the No. 2 team in the country making for a great match.

The Cougars were ultimately victorious and, as the fans rushed the field, it was easily the most exciting experience of my life.

Interviewing the coach and players directly following the game, and we all knew we were a part of something special and were most grateful for the opportunity to be there and participate in history being made.
