The Freeze Your Cookies Off 5K seeks to promote a healthy balance between exercise and cookie addictions by indulging participants in a gourmet cookie buffet and hot chocolate after the run.
The event will take place on Nov. 17 and begin at the American Fork Fitness Center at 9 a.m. Cookie Athlete is sponsoring the run in order to encourage exercise for the purpose of enjoying cookies as well as giving to charity. Donations from the event and a portion of the registration fees will go toward Choice Humanitarian projects in Guatemala.
In a press release Colette Marx, Cookie Athlete assistant director, said, 'At Cookie Athlete we believe sweat and sweets go together like cookies and milk.'
The company hopes to educate people on the concept of exercise in order to indulge in cookies.
Students are offered a discount off the registration fee when using the coupon code 'cookieday.' The registration fee goes up from $20 to $25 after Nov. 8 and to $30 after Nov. 15.
The American Fork Fitness Center is located at 454 North Center Street in American Fork.
