Since UTA began its bus service to Sundance Resort this month, students can now take the ski bus up to the resort daily.

Sundance is currently the only resort with full service.

The resorts up Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon have limited service until Sunday, after which they will begin full service.

Resorts with limited service run buses once in the morning and once at the end of the day.

The full service ski bus runs regularly throughout the day and consists of six routes. The service for Sundance has four stops between the Mount Timpanogos Transit Center, located near University Mall, and Sundance Resort.

UTA only services Utah, Salt Lake, Tooele, Weber, Davis and Box Elder counties; as a result the ski bus only services the resorts in the area.

The ski bus services Sundance, Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird and Alta. Other resorts such as Park City Mountain Resort run their own bus services.

One-way fare on the ski bus is $3.25 and a Ski Day Pass is available for $6.50.

The day pass allows riders unlimited travel on the ski buses and TRAX. Sundance season pass holders can ride the ski bus free of charge.

The fare can be paid, in cash, at the time of pick-up or can be purchased ahead of time on UTA”s website.

This year, UTA is introducing nine new ski buses – each will be equipped to hold 23 passengers along with their gear, according to information from UTA. The new buses will be more comfortable for riders and more efficient while driving through the canyons.

The departure and pick up points can be found on UTA”s Web site: rideuta.com by entering a route number or SKI in the route finder.

The pick up points for Sundance have a park-and-ride area where riders can park their cars for the day.
