The BYU Cougars are ranked 26th in the latest Division I Sports Academy Directors’ Cup standings, released following the conclusion of several spring sports. BYU added more points to its Directors’ Cup total with top finishes in women’s golf and tennis.

BYU proved to be a powerhouse finishing 17th in the nation for women’s golf, the team’s second-highest finish in school history. The women’s tennis team also garnished high honors advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The Cougars are the top-ranked Mountain West Conference team in the Directors’ Cup with the next closest team and in-state rival, Utah, placing 46th.

The Sports Academy Directors’ Cup is the only all-sports competition that rates the country’s best overall collegiate athletics programs. Points are awarded to each school based on each institution’s finish in up to 20 sports – 10 women’s and 10 men’s.

The final standings of the Directors’ Cup will be released on June 28th with points tallied from the 2006-07 school year.
