Police say an Orem woman hit and ran, but didn”t take everything when she fled.

Police tracked an Orem woman down Tuesday morning, (Dec. 5, 2006) and cited her for a hit-and-run accident after she allegedly ran into a wall at 1200 S. Orem Blvd. and left the scene.

When officer Justin Steitzinger arrived at the crumbled wall, he found a portion of a black bumper. Also under the debris – crudely attached to the bumper – he found Sharee Wallace”s license plate.

Orem police spokesman Lt. Doug Edwards said 24-year-old Wallace was distracted by her radio while holding a cup of coffee when she lost control of her car.

“Tracking her down was an easy matter with her license plate in hand,” Edwards said.

Officials say Wallace”s car veered off the road, jumped the curb and ran partially through a red brick wall because she was preoccupied with finding just the right song.

“[Wallace] was distracted while playing with her radio and holding a cup of coffee,” Edwards said. “She left the scene without reporting it because there was a problem with her driver”s license.”

Edwards did not say what that problem was.
