Calling all future leaders at BYU ? and with the mission statement here, ?Come to learn, go forth to serve?, that includes everyone. Thursday morning, Sheri Dew, CEO of the Deseret Book Company, will be speaking to students in the de Jong Concert Hall on ?Leadership in the Last Days.?

Dew is the recipient of an Honored Alumni award, having made ?significant differences professionally since?graduation,? said Charlene Winters on BYU News, and was invited to speak to students on a topic of her choice.

She is from Ulysses, Kan., and graduated from BYU. An experienced author, she has been the president and CEO of Deseret Book Company since early 2002. She also served as second counselor in the Relief Society organization for the LDS Church from 1997 to 2002.

Sending books to Ghana, taking a public stand against impurity with Miss America and of course, running a company, are just a few of the activities that qualify Dew to take another opportunity to teach students how to have a greater effect on the world around them. The address will take place at 11 a.m. on Oct. 13.
