Associate Dean to speak at Devotional

    Dana T. Griffen, associate dean in the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Brigham Young University, will speak Tuesday, May 31, at 11:05 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall for a campus devotional.

    The title of his talk is ?Choices and Changes, Burdens and Blessings.?

    Griffen received his bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., and served four years aboard U.S. Navy ships during the Vietnam era. He then earned master’s and doctoral degrees in geological science from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va.

    Prior to his current callings as a high councilman for the BYU 8th Stake and an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple, Griffen served twice as a bishop and as a branch president at the Missionary Training Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
