Provo city bought Provo cable last year in a decision to create a new fiber optic network for businesses and residents. AT&T, Provo”s main competitor, opposes government extending its reach into private business. Provo city, under the direction of Mayor Lewis Billings, plans to go ahead with the project despite criticism.
