There are as many versions of the Bible as there are religions in this world.

So when Thomas Corkish of the Anchor Baptist Church said the Kings James version of the Bible is the one God honors, people took notice.

After hymns had been sung and hands had been shook, Pastor Corkish, the guest speaker on Sunday at the Victory Baptist Church in Orem, commenced to speak on the King James Bible and other Bible versions.

The King James version of the Bible holds the words of truth, Corkish said.

“The prophets of old believe what they wrote to be the words of God and to be true,” Corkish said. “The book of John is constantly theming on the truth.”

If we do not have the words of God, we do not have the truth, he said.

Pastor Rick Roberson of the Victory Baptist Church agreed.

“We do not follow the position of King James apologetically,” Roberson said. “I have done many comparisons between the King James Bible and other Bibles and a lot is left out in other Bible versions.”

Amongst the other versions of the Bible discussed were the New International version, the American Standard and even a copy of the Gutenberg Bible.

“I have been in the ministry for a long time,” Pastor Corkish said. “And I have wondered which version of the Bible I should follow?”

In history it has always been the King James version that has followed the foundation of all the churches of old, he continued.

The audience cooed in awe when Pastor Corkish displayed his copy of the Gutenberg Bible.

The Gutenberg Bible does not follow any of the newer versions of the Bible, it follows the text of the King James Bible, Pastor Corkish said.

“Mr. Gutenberg invented the first movable type and thought the first book that should be in type should be the most beautiful book in the world, the Bible,” Pastor Corkish said.

Pastor Corkish also said the Gutenberg Bible is still considered the most beautiful Bible in the world.

Pastor Corkish wrapped up his seminar by stressing that the King James version of the Bible is not the same as the new King James version of the Bible.

“What God commends is in the King James version of the Bible,” Corkish said. “It tells us about Jesus Christ and his atonement.”

We have the truth and God commends those who esteem the truth.
