Orem police beat: Pappa John’s robbed

    The Pappa John’s Pizza at 207 S. State in Orem was robbed early Sunday, Junly 3, according to Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards.

    The suspect is described as a white male, six feet tall, wearing dark clothing who covered his face during the robbery.

    The employee heard the back door of the pizza establishment open and thought it was another employee returning a store delivery sign, Edwards said.

    The suspect opened the office door and brandished a chrome or stainless steel handgun and demanded money from the victim, Edwards said.

    Edwards said the victim gathered the money and gave it to the suspect.

    The suspect then ordered the victim to sit in a chair and was bound with duct tape around his hands and chest, Edwards said.

    The suspect fled after he hit the victim over the head with a calculator.

    The victim was able to free himself and call 911 minutes later at 3:05 a.m.

    The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and is still at large

    Edwards said Orem had 12 robberies last year.

    Orem — Lt. Doug Edwards of the Orem Police said a car was broken into early Friday, June 30, that was parked in the area of 1200 N. 1600 W. A car stereo and CDs were stolen. The total loss is valued at $2000.

    Orem — A car parked at 150 W. 1800 N. had its window broken out late Thursday, June 29. Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards said the suspect may have fled after being frightened away by motion lights nearby.
