    Duane Frisby: A resident of Payson for about 23 years. Duane Frisby, who was out of town and unavailable for comment, is finishing up his first term on the City Council.

    Gordon Nelson: This is Gordon Nelson’s first time running for City Council, although he ran for mayor two years ago Nelson, 54, has advised City Council members on planning issues for the past three years. “I’ve got ideas and I think that I would be good on the Council.” Nelson is attending UVSC.

    Jan Tanner: Now serving on the planning and zoning commission, Jan Tanner, 42, said she is looking to guide Payson’s growth if elected to the Council. Through guided land use she believes land use can be optimized. “So in 25 years we’ll have a well-layed-out city.”

    Pamela Wilson: “Our growth is a concern,” Pamela Wilson said as she spoke of her platform for reelection. As she finishes up her term on the Council, Wilson wants to continue projects already in the works she said are important. Wilson, 47, has served five years on planning and zoning and five years on the Council.

    Burtis Bills: “The #1 thing I want to do is what’s best for the citizens of Payson,” said Bills, 50, a lifetime Payson resident. He also wants to encourage industrial and commercial development in the area.
