Two men were arrested after police found them trying to escape through the underground crawl space of an Orem business early Friday.

Police officers responded to an alarm at Centennial Publishing, 250 W. Center St., Orem, at approximately 12:55 a.m. Initially, the officers found nothing after searching the premises, said Lt. Bob Conner of the Orem Police Department.

“As the officers were exiting the business, one of them noticed that the hatch to the crawl space was ajar,” Conner said.

The officers followed the path of the crawl space to the neighboring building where they found the two men and boxes of computer software stacked by the door, Conner said.

Tim Gibson, 20, of Pleasant Grove, and Jeff Bizzan, 20, of Orem, entered the building where it was under construction. From there, they were able to get into the crawl space and then to any business they wanted to, Conner said.

Both men were charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools.
