    Illegal Fireworks

    Illegal fireworks had been discharged for several days from Halls Q and R of Deseret Towers. An investigation is continuing.

    Theft

    Oct. 9 a report was made that between Sept. 1 and Oct. 9, a Cannon Center student employee had stolen more than $1,300 from crediting his own signature account. The 17-year-old student has been terminated and action is pending.

    At midnight Oct. 9, a red Yamaha Moped, valued at $200 was stolen from the JRCB parking lot (26). The next day, the Moped was found in the RB parking lot (39). Damage to the Moped consists of a plate removed due to the hot wiring. The owner has reclaimed the bike.

    Oct. 9 a bike was stolen from the racks by the Taylor building. The bike is a 21-speed, purple, medium-sized Mountain Trek valued at $350.

    Oct. 8 at 9:45 p.m. witnesses reported four male subjects breaking traffic signs by the Smith Family Living Center parking lot. A “no left turn” sign was broken in half, and a “no U-turn” sign was broken and taken from its pole.

    Monday, a portable drill was reported stolen from the fourth floor of the Wilkinson Center. The drill belongs to the university Moving and Storage Department. The drill is valued at $20.

    Oct. 3 between 7:15 and 11 p.m. a visitor reported that his cellular phone was stolen out of his car. His car was parked in the intermural lot for a football game. The value is estimated at $300.

    Fire Report

    Sunday, a resident at Wymount Terrace reported flames coming from the bottom of their heater. Officers responded and concluded that it was a normal functioning heater. The matter has been referred to campus safety.

    In-line skaters

    Tuesday between 2 and 3:30 a.m., officers saw a group of in-line skaters on the pedestrian bridge by the Marriott Center. The officers attempted to intercept the skaters at the bottom of the ramp, but were unsuccessful. The in-line skaters continued through Helaman Halls, and were finally stopped at the Circle K on 1230 North. The individuals were issued a citation for in-line skating and not stopping the first time. The 18-year-old non-students were banned from campus for 72 hours.

    Medical

    A bicycle accident occurred Monday at the 1230 N. 450 East intersection. A bicyclist was heading southbound on 450 East., while a vehicle was turning left onto 1230 North. The bicyclist hit the side of the vehicle, and she was taken to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She suffered a broken collarbone. Witnesses say the vehicle had the right of way, and the bicyclist entered the intersection during a red light.

    Saturday a four-month-old male infant at Wymount Terrace was having difficulty breathing. He was conscious but not responding. Paramedics were dispatched and arrive on the scene. The infant was transported to the UVRMC for further treatment.
