It was the Summer of 2009 when Andrew Todd Smith stood alongside his peers on the stage of Cambodian Television News with a trumpet in hand.

Sounds of democracy rang in the streets. Flags swayed, and people raised their voices to the beat of a drum. Dancers in traditional face paint led a crowd down the streets of Valparaiso, Chile, on Aug. 20, 2022. 

BYU Humanities put together a cookbook. Its goal is to highlight the rich cultural experience the school offers.

Adams has visited Antarctica off and on since 1993 when a professional colleague offered him a place on a research team traveling to the southernmost continent. He obtained a research grant earlier this year, allowing him to take three students with him to Antarctica.

BYU has a three-day weekend in January, February and March during winter semester, allowing many students to travel for the weekend. The school's holidays are Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 17, Presidents Day on Feb. 21 and BYU's spring day on March 18.

With the holiday season approaching, millions of Americans are preparing to travel to celebrate with their family. AAA estimates there will be 53.4 million people traveling this Thanksgiving season, almost a complete return to pre-pandemic numbers.
