The No. 6 BYU women’s soccer team defeated No. 19 Ohio State on the road Monday night 3-0. It was the Cougars’ fifth-straight win and third-straight shutout.

“That was a huge result against a really good team, especially on the road,” said BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood. “A number of great performances tonight, and I’m happy with the way we came out to start both halves.”

Michele Vasconcelos, Ashley Hatch and Nadia Gomes all scored for the Cougars. It was Gomes’ first goal of the season.

The Cougars travel to Logan to take on Utah State on Saturday, Sept. 17. The game begins at 4 p.m. MDT.
