Photo Story: Provo Library hosts life-sized Candyland

The Provo Library hosted a life-sized game of Candyland on Saturday, July 17. Families were invited to come to the library and participate in the giant board game, which featured re-creations of the Lollipop Woods, Peppermint Forest and King Kandy's Castle. Children made their way across the board in teams, stopping to collect crafts and play games.

Photo Story: Provo's hot air balloon festival

America's Freedom Festival at Provo celebrated the 4th of July with an annual hot air balloon fest each morning on July 2, 3 and 5. Utah residents bring chairs and blankets and wait for balloons to be blown up. Once they're blown up, everyone walks around to see the balloons and take pictures. The balloons normally launch into the sky, but didn't on July 5 when these photos were taken because of bad weather.

Students, professors respond to unusual first day back

The first day of classes looked different on Aug. 31 than in previous semesters. Posters on buildings reminded students of new health and safety precautions; desks in classrooms were spaced six feet apart; and fewer students on campus meant the school year began without the typical crowds and traffic jams.
