The Provo Library hosted a life-sized game of Candyland on Saturday, July 17. Families were invited to come to the library and participate in the giant board game, which featured re-creations of the Lollipop Woods, Peppermint Forest and King Kandy's Castle. Children made their way across the board in teams, stopping to collect crafts and play games.

America's Freedom Festival at Provo celebrated the 4th of July with an annual hot air balloon fest each morning on July 2, 3 and 5. Utah residents bring chairs and blankets and wait for balloons to be blown up. Once they're blown up, everyone walks around to see the balloons and take pictures. The balloons normally launch into the sky, but didn't on July 5 when these photos were taken because of bad weather.

Utah is going through a 'megadrought' and facing the driest 20-year period since the Middle Ages according to BYU ecosystem ecology professor Ben Abbott.

Missionaries have been affected in a number of ways by the pandemic. At the beginning of the pandemic, many missionaries were sent home to avoid the disease. Other missionaries began their missions with an at-home MTC experience.

The Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Rodeo was different in 2020 as rodeo fans, staff members and competitors adapted to the pandemic. Individuals were asked to wear face coverings and hand sanitizing stations were placed around the fairgrounds.

Bicentennial Dog Park in Provo hosted a pet safety day on July 15. Dog owners were invited to the park for free dog treats, a 'kissing booth' for photos, and to receive pet safety information provided by Provo Animal Control and nearby shelters.

The pandemic has forced individuals to adapt activities to health guidelines like social distancing — and in some cases, that includes protesting. In support of the Black Lives Matter movement, protestors in Provo have begun speaking out from their cars to maintain social distancing.

Salt Lake City residents marched over five miles on June 3 in protest of police brutality and racism. The protest, like many across the nation and most others in Salt Lake City, was peaceful.

Utah school closures canceled the typical end-of-year celebrations for graduating seniors. Wanting to show appreciation for their students, Timpview High School organized a graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 22, where students could drive up to the podium, receive their diploma and then drive away with their families.

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the afternoon of Friday, March 6, in response to recent updates to the BYU Honor Code.
