Eco-Response club helps lead charge for cleaner air
Utah's polluted air is visible as a dirty haze draped over the valley, a poisonous fog that seems to go on with no end in sight. The most drastic effects are invisible. Groups in Utah County are leading the charge to make cleaner air a priority.

The bus less traveled
Buses go almost everywhere in Provo and other cities as well. I can take one bus from my apartment to BYU, the Provo Temple, my bank and my parents’ house. They are very convenient and easy to ride. There’s a website where we can look if we need help getting from one place to another (rideuta.com). UTA has efficient buses that use natural gas so they don’t harm the environment. One of the biggest draws of UTA is that it is environmentally friendly, which I think is really important for Utah. We also could take the FrontRunner, which travels from Provo to Ogden, with stops at almost every city in between.

FrontRunner line to Provo may open in December
Liz Stevenson does not have a car and has to be creative in the ways to get around. Depending on how far she wants to go, she can walk, ride a bicycle, get a friend to drive her, or take a bus. However, with the Utah County Commission recently authorized the sale of $52 million in bonding to repay a loan to UTA, Utah County residents, like Stevenson, may be able to add “catch the train” to that list come December.
