Letter to the Editor: Thinking of friends

December 12, 2002 12:00 AM
As classes end and finals approach, my thoughts turn to a friend of mine, who a year ago was having her wisdom teeth removed around this time.

Letter to the Editor: Support Cougars

December 12, 2002 12:00 AM
As a fan, I was not disappointed by the women's basketball team Saturday night. But I will be disappointed if the Marriott Center is empty for their well deserved homecoming next month. Saturday in Portland the ladies put up a nice fight against the Oregon Ducks, a big, tough team playing essentially on a home floor. Our ladies played fighting colds, injuries, and road fatigue, and held the Ducks off until the final minute.

Letter to the Editor: Sleeveless T-shirts

December 12, 2002 12:00 AM
Here at BYU we strive to abide by a strict moral code. This code is designed to keep us within the church guidelines for modesty. However, I have some trouble understanding the problem with men not being allowed to wear sleeveless T-shirts. Women are not allowed to wear them and we all know that women, being beautiful and sacred as they are, must abide by a higher standard of dress when put in comparison to the world standard.

Letter to the Editor: Poor wording

December 12, 2002 12:00 AM
In his December 3 viewpoint article Scott Allen described respiratory therapy as 'like nursing, but a man can do it without his masculinity being questioned.' A few sentences later Allen described an infant delivery by saying 'When the baby came out I almost fainted. I made a vow then that when I am married and my wife is in labor, I will be in Arkansas. That's not to say I won't be there for her, I'll just be supporting her by telephone.' I wonder how many male nurses have made that vow.
