Letter to the Editor: Poor wording

    40

In his December 3 viewpoint article Scott Allen described respiratory therapy as “like nursing, but a man can do it without his masculinity being questioned.” A few sentences later Allen described an infant delivery by saying “When the baby came out I almost fainted. I made a vow then that when I am married and my wife is in labor, I will be in Arkansas. That’s not to say I won’t be there for her, I’ll just be supporting her by telephone.” I wonder how many male nurses have made that vow.
