BYU women's soccer will advance to the Elite Eight after defeating North Carolina State 3-0 on South Field on Nov. 23. This will be the team's third-ever trip to the Elite Eight and their first since 2012.

No. 4 BYU women's volleyball is headed to the Final Four after victories over Florida (23-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-19) on Friday, Dec. 7, and No. 5 Texas (25-23, 25-23, 25-21) on Saturday, Dec. 8.

BYU women's soccer returned home to South Field on Oct. 25 against San Francisco and Oct. 27 against No. 6 Santa Clara. Wins against both teams propelled the team to West Coast Conference champions and an automatic NCAA tournament bid.

The year 2012 was a historic year for women's soccer at BYU, with the team going 20-2-2 on the season, and entered the NCAA tournament as a No. 1 seed. It was the first year that the Cougars had won the outright West Coast Conference title, and the team was nearly unbeatable, losing only one game through the regular season. That same team made a deep run into the NCAA tournament, beating Utah State, Auburn and Marquette and making its way to the Elite Eight before losing to a tough North Carolina team.

This was the second time since 2003 that BYU's women's soccer team made it to the Elite 8 and the team says the support of Cougar fans gave these ladies a season they say they'll always remember. Stands at the South Field overflowed with fans as the Cougars took on North Carolina for a chance to go to the Final Four in the NCAA. Senior Defender Cami Jensen says she believes that the fans' enthusiasm helped them make it this far in the tournament.
