BYU Police publishes 2019 annual security and fire safety reports

BYU published the 2019 Annual Security and Fire Safety Reports on Monday, Oct. 1. These reports not only give students access to safety instruction, procedures and emergency contacts but also the crime and fire reports for 2016-18. The reports can be viewed for Provo Campus, Salt Lake Center, Washington D.C. Barlow Center, London Center and the Jerusalem Center.

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch participated in A Discussion on Civility with Carolyn Baldwin McHugh, United States 10th Circuit Judge, at BYU on Sept. 20. Keven J Worthen and President Dallin H. Oaks attended and briefly introduced the speakers. Former Utah Senator Orrin G. Hatch, whose foundation hosted the event, was also in attendance. There were around 800 attendees intent to hear what Gorsuch had to say.

Karak Miakol receives 2019 Center for Conflict Resolution Peacemaker Award

Peace activist and asylee Karak Mayik Denyok Miakol accepted a bonsai tree Wednesday, Sept. 11, from the BYU Center for Conflict Resolution in recognition of her outreach in humanitarian aid. As the founder and president of the Diar for Rehabilitation and Development Association, she works in nonprofit to educate and support children and women in Sudan, South Sudan and Uganda.
