Stranded skier saved by helicopter in Little Cottonwood Canyon
On Saturday, Jan. 30 at 4:20 p.m., Salt Lake Search and Rescue received a call about a skier stuck in Little Cottonwood canyon. The skier had hiked into an area called 'the needle' in the canyon. Rescuers decided to extract the skier by helicopter because of the remote location, weather conditions and the sun setting. When the skier was located, a rescuer from the Utah Department of Public Safety was then lowered down and lifted them to safety. (Utah Highway Patrol /@UTHighwayPatrol)

Black History Month for BYU is a 'time to learn'
Less than 1% of students enrolled at BYU are Black, according to Data USA. The majority of the campus population is white, but according to a BYU Multicultural Student Services advisor, that does not make Black History Month any less relevant to campus.

Neighborhood shootout caught on security cam in Missouri
Mark Fitzgerald and his family started to hear gunshots at 9:26 a.m. In the Fitzgerald's front yard shots were exchanged between a car passenger and a walking pedestrian. The shootout was caught on the family's surveillance camera. The shots damaged their son's car and one of the security cameras.

Officers save woman pinned under car
On Wednesday, Jan. 19, officers from New Castle, Delaware, were dispatched to help a 70-year-old woman trapped under a vehicle. Fellow community members tried to help by using a jack to raise the car, but it was not high enough.

Dog in England saved by flying sausage
A Jack Russell mix dog named Millie had wandered away into the mud lands of Hampshire, England, and was uncooperative to rescue tactics. Officials were worried about the rising tides, so to get Millie back to safety they unhatched operation sausage. Watch as they lure Millie with a flying sausage. (DDSAR)

Utah couple deliver baby while driving to the hospital
Cade and Katie Walker were driving to the hospital to give birth to their baby girl. On their drive, through the snowstorm, Katie told Cade to pull over because the baby was coming. They were able to successfully deliver the baby on the side of the road. (Video Courtesy of Cade Walker)

Three jeeps stuck in the snow rescued in Bountiful
The men of Overland Supply Co. responded to a call for help from teenagers stuck in a trail called Old Ward canyon in Bountiful, Utah. They were able to save two others from being stuck in the winter mountains. (Overland Supply Co.)
