Cougars in the NFL: week 9 recap

Twelve Cougars in the NFL saw the field for playing time in Week 9 of the NFL season.

JAREN HALL

Jaren Hall made his first NFL start this week. In the opening drive he showed a lot of promise completing five of his six passes for 78 yards. However, Hall would take a big hit sending him into concussion protocol where he would not return to the game.

Newly acquired Josh Dobbs led the Vikings to a comeback victory. It will be something to keep an eye on to see if Hall will clear concussion protocol and return as starter or if the Vikings stick with Dobbs.

TAYSOM HILL

On Sunday Taysom Hill became the fifth player in NFL history to have at least 10 pass TDs, 10 receiving TDs and 10 rush TDs. He is the first since 1964. Hill completed one pass for a touchdown, rushed for 52 yards on 11 attempts and also recorded a receiving touchdown. The Saints beat the bears 24-17.

PUKA NACUA

Nacua recorded three receptions for 32 yards in Week 8. Nacua set the Rams single season record for receptions by a rookie with 63.

ZACH WILSON

On 49 passing attempts, Wilson completed 33 for 263 yards and a QBR of 80.6. The Chargers defense dominated all game and held the Jets out of the endzone.

SIONE TAKITAKI

Sione Takitaki had one of his best games of the season against the Arizona Cardinals. He received a 93.0 grade on PFF. His final stats were two tackles and a key interception.

KYLE VAN NOY

Van Noy continues to find a home in Baltimore and be a key piece to their defense. He recorded five pressures and two sacks including one forced fumble.

BLAKE FREELAND

Freeland got his fourth start at right tackle for the Colts. He played in 58 snaps and received a 58.8 grade on PFF.

TYLER ALLGEIER

Against former teammate Jaren Hall, Allgeier got 12 carries for 39 yards. He scored a go ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter but the Falcons would fall short.

MICHAEL DAVIS

On Monday Night Football, the Cowboys targeted Davis seven times and completed four passes for 39 yards. He graded out at 50.2 on PFF this week.

JAMAAL WILLIAMS

Williams had three rushing attempts for six yards. Williams is still getting back to fully healthy after being taken off IR three weeks ago.

KHYIRIS TONGA

Tonga recorded one tackle in his 20 snaps this week.

FRED WARNER

Warner and the 49ers had a much needed bye this week after losing three games in a row. They return to action Sunday against the Jaguars.
